Julio Caro and his brother, Francisco, studied piano and violin separately; although their father later gave them their desire to change instruments (the third brother, Emilio, learned the violin).

Against his father’s wishes, Julio got a place as a second violinist at the Lorea Theater for a 1915 performance of a zarzuela. Despite his father’s punishment and opposition, the brothers began going to Buenos Aires tango recitals.

Some early influences include chefs d’orchestre Eduardo Arolas, Juan Carlos Cobián, and Roberto Firpo.

From 1988 to 1995 he was involved in the music industry and art management working with many artists. Julio Caro was the manager of the artists Safire, The Throbs, The Sea Hags, and Raw Youth.

He was a consultant for JDW Entertainment who has signed an artist, Mary J. Blige. From 1996 to 2000, he worked in the production company Radical Media in New York and Los Angeles and was the head of the development of their entertainment strategy.
